Housing Signals in Motion

I discovered the Global Economic Calendar dataset on Kaggle and initially explored it in Tableau. That first pass helped me understand the structure of the data, but it also raised a better question: how could this dataset tell a more focused story about housing markets? I narrowed the scope to housing-related indicators and rebuilt the visualisation as a custom timeline embedded directly into this website.

Discovery

Started with a large global economic calendar covering thousands of macroeconomic events across countries and categories.

Focus

Filtered the data to housing-related events such as lending, construction activity, property prices, sales, and sentiment.

Build

Moved from Tableau prototyping to a custom D3 implementation to gain better control over performance, zooming, filtering, and narrative flow.
